TELL CITY, IN- Ivy Tech Community College Southwest announces today a new state-of-the-art health laboratory at its Tell City campus. The 1,315 sq. ft. lab was designed for use in Anatomy and Physiology courses as well as general science courses. 34 anatomical models were provided for the laboratory by the Southwest Indiana Area Health Education Center (SWIAEHC).
The Ivy Tech health laboratory was completed in the spring of 2015 and the total project cost to the College was just over $260,000. Prior to this laboratory, the College offered Anatomy & Physiology classes at the Tell City High School laboratory. Ivy Tech also plans to offer future courses for students interested in completing a certificate in Phlebotomy.
This project is important to the College and the community as Anatomy & Physiology is a gateway course for many health professions. A special thank you to the city of Tell City for their unending support of the College.
